Making prints from your CD

Many of our clients purchase the negatives, or high-resolutin digital files, from their wedding day or family photo shoots and then aren't sure how to best utilize these digital files.
This post will hopefully give some ideas of the best ways/places to print their pictures with the least amount of headache.

If you are located locally in the Utah Valley area, I suggest having your pictures printed at three main places:
Pro Digital Photos (www.pdphotos.com) --especially for smaller enlargements, like 4x6's, 5x7's and 8x10's. You can order prints from their website. They are located in Pleasant Grove, Ut.
Kenny's Photo (www.kennysphoto.com) -- good for all enlargement sizes. Kenny's is located in Orem on Center St. (across the street from Target.) You can also order online.
Snelson's Photo Color Lab (www.snelsonphotolab.com) -- Snelson's is the best place for large format prints (16x20's or larger) and for any specialty prints, like canvas or metallic. They are located in Springville, Ut., and you can order from them online as well.

If you want to have your pictures online and available for friends and family to order at discounted prices, I highly suggest uploading your photos to Scrapbook Pictures.com, www.picturepreview.com.
This is a great online company that prints and mails your pictures to you. This allows family or friends to order the picture they want printed and have them mailed to them--which means no hassle for you!
Picture Preview is also the best online site that I have found that allows you to view and crop your image before ordering it, so you know exactly what you going to get. They also have the best prices and paper options available, such as matte, glossy or metallic. They use high quality paper and color correct every print so it is sure to look great. They also have fun options like adding text or borders to your photos.

Having your high-resolution digital files is one of the best investments you can make. Hopefully this information will help you get the best results when printing from your CD. Remember that not every printer is equal, you will get great prints from one location, but not from another.
All of the local printers listed above are familiar with Utah Valley Photo, but remember to take your CD with you when you pick up orders so that you can show the copyright release if needed. (This is especially important if you are printing from places like Costco or Wal-Mart.)

Feel free to call or email me if you have any further questions. Good luck and have fun making the most of your digital files!!
